Immersive Bar Manager

Award-winning escape-room company CU Adventures is seeking a Bar Manager for our newest venture: Parcadia, a 16 000 sq ft fantasy-themed minigolf facility slated to open in Fall 2025.

Parcadia blends high-tech indoor miniature golf, immersive fantasy environments, and craft cocktails. Guests will explore a magical kingdom featuring a mysterious forest, a medieval village, and (mostly) friendly creatures.

The bar program focuses on craft cocktails & mocktails, wine, and beer—with an emphasis on high-quality local options. If you’re a veteran bartender who loves Dungeons & Dragons, Ren Faire trips, or theatre, this could be your dream gig.

We prize uniqueness, fun, and quality. We’re looking for someone with bar management experience, solid health-and-safety knowledge, a passion for guest experience, and a commitment to an equitable workplace.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in final bar design and setup: create menus/drink specs, hire & train opening staff, and help owners purchase smallwares, seating, and initial inventory.
  • Maintain bar inventory, budget, and purchasing after opening.
  • Create and enforce bar maintenance/cleaning schedules; generate regular reports; keep staff certifications current.
  • Ensure full compliance with Champaign-Urbana Public Health requirements.
  • Oversee, train, and schedule bar staff; plan special events.
  • Encourage showmanship and theatricality in drink preparation and service.
  • Collaborate with the minigolf/experience management team to keep the whole venue running smoothly.

Work Hours & Benefits

Full-time salaried role, including weeknights and weekends, on-site only. We foster a collaborative, creative environment and offer:

  • Paid time off
  • Health insurance
  • Year-end bonuses

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 + benefits

Start date: Summer 2025 (exact date TBD); bar opens Fall 2025

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience bartending and managing a bar (barista experience a plus).
  • Mixology skills—including zero-proof beverage creation—and menu design chops.
  • Comfort performing or being the center of attention.
  • Ability to multitask and lead during fast-paced service.
  • Creative problem-solving, stellar customer service, strong organization, keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with POS systems.
  • BASSET certification (& preferably Food Manager’s Certificate—training provided if needed).
  • High-school diploma or GED; basic computer skills.
  • Ready to dive head-first into this exciting new venture!
